Artur Beterbiev: “I Think Bivol’t get along”

The world champion under versions WBC and IBF light heavyweight Artur Beterbiev says that he wants to hold a unification bout with WBA title holder Dmitry Bivol. However, the Russian boxer stressed that they would prefer to meet with a representative of another country, but at the same time, he assured that the battle with compatriot will not be a problem for him because between them there is friendship.

“Of course, you want to fight the Bivol. As well as you wanted to fight with Carnations. I would be happy if another unification fight will do. Of course, I’d rather not Russians, but if there are some Russians will remain – what to do? The ring will need to share,” said Beterbiev in an interview with “Sport-Express”.

As told to Arthur, he crossed paths with a Bivol in the Amateur Russian national team and even worked with him as a sparring partner before the Olympic games 2012 in London.

“So that team remember him, Yes. We were not friends. I think, and not make friends,” added Artur Beterbiev.

The boxer said that he tries to maintain a normal relationship with all the sparring partners, but will never become friends with them.

We will remind, Beterbiev also told under what conditions to agree to hold a rematch with Alexander Carnations.
