Mountainbiker Jan Belomoina analyzed their performance in 2019 and plans for the future.
“The season for me is not over: expect the race to Tokyo, and then another stage start in Greece. In the second half of the season through injury and illness I had to miss two starts, so I want a little more chase. After the Greek event is the time to rest and start preparing for the new season.
But if you remember the whole season, that is, mixed feelings: there were successful moments and failed. I won a silver medal at the European Championship, stood on the podium of the world Cup – these results are very satisfied,” – said Belomoina.
Told the athlete about the injury, without which no cost.
“The first health problem happened in August, shortly after winning silver at the European Championships. I was in good shape, immediately after Euros went to the world Cup in Italy – and cold. A week felt bad, but really wanted to start in the Val de of Salt, because I understand that this form will be able to fight for victory.
In the end, the day of the race first went on the road to explore the circle, and decided to go, although was not fully fit. The start was something incredible: the patient without any training, I was able to finish fourth. After the finish could not stand on his feet, and then the cold intensified. So the world Cup in Switzerland I had to miss”, – said the athlete.
Belomoina said plans for the future.
“Season of 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo a little impact on training. In connection with the Olympics, we will have a slightly different calendar, very early in the world Cup (June 26-28, – approx.) and I want to be well prepared for this start. Therefore, in the winter more attention should be paid to strength training before start the season.
I hope that next season will be better than in 2017, which remains the most successful 15-year career in professional start: then I became the owner of the world Cup and won gold of the European Championship”, – said the athlete in an interview Redbull.com.
We will remind that in June Belomoina won silver in the European championship in Cycling.
