Former world champion in superheavy weight Vladimir Klitschko, in his book “Management challenges” said that in the past wanted to become a military doctor, not even thinking at that moment about a career in the professional ring.
“I had good grades, and I was invited for an interview. Even on the specialty that I wanted “ear, throat, nose”, – wrote Klitschko. “The exams I did well, I was promised a place the following year, as I was a year younger than the other students. But I wanted to start immediately. The nice lady in admissions said I can go until 12-month course for nurses not to waste time.
It seemed to me that I didn’t catch: I wanted to be a doctor and was on her way to the goal. I couldn’t imagine myself as a nurse. Thanked and walked away.
We had to act quickly since admission most schools ended a few days ago. Looking back, I think that the need to act quickly nudged me to the right decision. I didn’t go to military school, as advised by the father, while enrolled in a sports school.”
